Some of the projects the Mission Team spearheaded in the past few years have included:
- Collection of non-perishable food and items
- Support for the Prayer Shawl Ministry and Lost & Found Clothing Center
- Collection of gift cards for Youth Emergency Services (YES) and Living Hope Thanksgiving meals
- Making of tie blankets for Project Harmony
- Writing of Christmas cards to long-term care residents
The Food Boat
We collect various non-perishable items and distribute them to local shelters and food pantries throughout the year. This is done through the filling of our food boat. Each month, a new poem is written that tells what we are currently looking for. Then, you purchase the item and place it in our boat located in our Fellowship Hall. Once the boat is full, we take the items to where they are needed.
Stephen Ministries
Trinity has begun participating in the Stephen Ministries, a ministry that equips laypeople to do distinctively Christian care. Why Stephen Ministry? Stephen Ministry trains people in the basic skills necessary for helping others. Through lecture, discussion and experiential learning, people will learn how to be an effective listener, along with specific techniques for ministering to grieving people. Trinity will reap many, many blessings through its involvement in the ministry of care.
